Sterling Silver Jewellery Info and Care

Sterling silver is a beautiful and durable metal, but it naturally oxidizes over time, causing it to darken or tarnish. This happens when silver reacts with air, moisture, and chemicals like sulfur or perfume. It's important to remember that all silver jewellery tarnish over time, and it does not reflect the quality of the product.

The good news? Proper care keeps it shining!

How to Care for Sterling Silver

Wear it often:

The natural oils in your skin help prevent tarnishing.

Keep it dry:

Moisture speeds up oxidation. Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, or exercising.

Store properly:

Keep in an airtight bag or anti-tarnish pouch when not in use. Avoid humid areas like bathrooms.

Clean gently:

Use a soft polishing cloth or mild soap and water. For stubborn tarnish, a silver-cleaning solution or baking soda paste can help.

Avoid chemicals :

Perfume, lotions, hairspray, and household cleaners can accelerate tarnishing. Put jewellery on last when getting ready.

Care for Earring Charms:

Our earring charms are handmade with handpainted sections. Do not swim, shower or go to bed with your charms on.

Some designs can be delicate. Please avoid dropping them.

Store away in its soft pouch or bag to prevent scratches.

Do not expose your charms to lotions, perfumes, dust and direct sunlight.

FINAL NOTE

Certain skin types can react more adversely to metals. This does not reflect the quality of our hoops. Choose the material you are most comfortable with. If you're unsure, please email us.
