Wood with Words is taking a break from 12 - 19 January 2021. On either side of these dates, we are still shipping readymade items within days. Always read the product descriptions as some items (such as personalised pieces) may require a longer turnaround time.

    Turnaround/processing time for personalised items

    Custom orders are currently only taken on a very limited basis. Please keep an eye out for special events such as Mother's Day and Christmas where you'll find a beautiful range you can preorder and personalise for that special someone. 

    What if I purchase a readymade item and a personalised item in one order?

    Your order will be shipped together, following the turnaround/processing time of the personalised item. If you would like the readymade / fast shipping item to be sent first, please place your orders separately.

    How are products shipped?
    Shipping is via Australia Post. For wholesale or bulky items, we may choose to use a courier. 

    Untracked Postage
    Postage and handling start from just $3.90 untracked^ for small items.
    We apologise the untracked shipping method is currently suspended due to processing delays at the Australia Post end, impacted by COVID-19 safety rules.

    Standard Tracked Postage
    Starting from $8.90 (increased weight is charged  and applied automatically).
    Please note standard tracked postage does not include signature on delivery. If you prefer your parcel to be taken to the post office in case you are not home, choose ‚ÄėStandard Tracked with Signature on Delivery‚Äô. Alternatively, register for a FREE parcel locker through Australia Post - it‚Äôs simple to setup and a secure way to have your parcels delivered.¬†

    Please check your tracking number on the Australia Post website as soon as you receive a shipping notification from us and subscribe via SMS or email to any shipping updates provided by Australia Post.
    It is the buyer’s responsibility when selecting  any changes to delivery including redirection options, nomination of safe drop areas or parcel locker pickups. Please note due to COVID-19 restrictions, signature on delivery may not be offered.

    Express Postage
    Starting from $12.00 (increased weight is charged and applied automatically)
    Express postage is only to expedite shipping via Australia Post (within their stated timeframes). It does not expedite the processing time.

    Please note Milestone Boards do not qualify for any free shipping codes as they are automatically upgraded to EXPRESS POST shipping when standard shipping is selected.

    Please note only one promo code can be used at a time, including any automatic codes applied during a promotion.

    International postage (TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED)
    Flat rate international tracked shipping to most countries - $25.
    For all international shipping, the customer is responsible for all customs/duties taxes if applicable.

    Lost or missing items 
    Please select your delivery preferences¬†carefully via your Australia Post ‚ÄėMyPost‚Äô account website. Australia Post now provides many options for delivering¬†your parcels securely including FREE parcel lockers. We also provide a ‚Äėsignature on delivery‚Äô shipping option (for an additional cost) if you don‚Äôt wish to parcels to be left at your doorstep.
    Wood With Words is not responsible for items that go missing after it has been delivered by Australia Post.
    Do you check my spelling and punctuation?
    Personalisation is at the heart of my designs so it's very important to ensure that all names and personalised fields are spelt and entered correctly. If I do spot something I'm unsure of, I will get in touch, however it is your responsibility they are correct before you submit your order. Unfortunately, there are no replacements or refunds for names provided incorrectly.
    If a personalisation field is left blank (our system is setup to alert you of this before proceeding further but occasionally you may get through!) it is assumed that you do not wish for your piece to be personalised.

  • The natural characteristics of wood

    Due to the use of wood in our products, you are purchasing an item that, by nature, cannot be identical to the one next to it. The difference in grain and tone, sometimes lighter or more distinct, along with the lasercutting process and hand-finishing of every product, result in unique characteristics that will delight you and make your piece truly your own. 
  • Returns and Exchanges

    A refund or exchange will be issued if the product that you receive is faulty or  damaged. Photos of damaged item must be submitted along with your request for an exchange or refund. Exchanges are only for the same item and cannot be substituted for other items. We do not offer refunds for change of mind. 

    What currency is shown on this website?

    All pricing is in Australian Dollars [AUD].

    Prices may be changed at any time without further notice.

    We reserve the right to change our product's prices at any time without further notice.

    Teacher Gifts and Christmas Timeline: Important Dates

    11 July 2020 | Preorders open for a 12-week period

    4 October 2020 | Preorders close to commence custom design work

    Between 2 - 13 November | All preorders are shipped 5 - 7 weeks before Christmas 


    Q: Will teacher gifts be ready for Early Childhood Educator's Day on 2nd Sept?

    Unfortunately, in order to manage the volume of work and maintain the quality of your handmade items, we are committed to having your teacher gifts ready before the end of the school year. Teacher preorders will be shipped out between 2  - 13 November.


    Q: Can I order Christmas with teacher gifts?

    Yes! Christmas and teacher gifts follow the same timeline so combine away! Don't forget to use code SHIPFREE if your order is over $95 to take advantage of our free shipping offer. *Only one offer can be used at any one time.


    Q: Can I order readymade earrings with Christmas/Teacher items?

    Can you wait for your earrings? If yes, you can order them together with Christmas and teacher gifts. If not, we recommend separating your orders.  Please be aware that orders containing Christmas/Teacher and readymades will be shipped according to the Christmas/Teacher timeline.

    Q: I've ordered Christmas and/or Teacher items and forgot to add a few more gifts! Do I have to pay for shipping again?

    In most cases, you don't! We are pleased to offer our 'Combined Shipping Guarantee' whereby - if you have paid for tracked shipping on your first order AND it has not yet been despatched - you can write to us and ask for a unique free shipping code to combine your postage. Applies to Christmas orders only. Some minor conditions apply, but in essence, there's no need to pay for unnecessary additional shipping fees! 

    Q: I ordered Christmas and Teacher Gifts back in July. When will I receive them?

    Orders placed between July and October are shipped between 2  and 13 November. Please refer to the timeline above.
